week 4

In week 4, I learnt about networking systems, basic networking concepts and types of network. After I have learnt about these networking systems, I realized how computers connect each other, how the users can serve internet through network. Moreover, learning types of network made me realize the network we are using in our socitey. In other words, I got to know which network is for which area and which network can serve better. So, let me share the types of network that I learnt in this week.

There are 3 types of network, namely ,

1. LAN (Local Area Network)
2. MAN (Metropolitan Area Network)
3. WAN (Wide Area Network)

LAN

A network of computers that are in the same physical location, or that spans a small area such as a building or an office. 

MAN

A Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) is a large computer network that spans a metropolitan area or campus. Its geographic scope falls between a WAN and LAN. MANs provide Internet connectivity for LANs in a metropolitan region, and connect them to wider area networks like the Internet.

WAN

A Wide Area Network (WAN) is a network that covers a broad area i.e any telecommunicaton network that links across metorpolitan, regional, or national boundaries using private or public network transport.
